Journey to Hope is very happy to participate for the 3rd year in the Trees of Hope Project benefitting Hope House in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Hope House has as their mission "to provide homeless mothers and their children with safe housing and the opportunities to transition to successful, independent living." It is hard for me to resist any type of support for a project with the word HOPE in it, but I have long been passionate about work with the homeless in our community and this is a small way that Journey to Hope can give back to "the least of these." Peace is very hard to come by when you are homeless and hungry and struggling. So Journey to Hope prays for peace for all the moms and children at Hope House, and those who will come in 2014 - that God will be greater than their situation. That hope will be stronger than fear.
If you are interesting in helping with another homeless ministry, we are also collecting coats and blankets for the New Generation Homeless Shelter this Christmas. Please drop off any new or gently used coats and blankets, and we will distribute them before Christmas at the shelter. Look in the newsletter for more details. Thanks.
