Journey to Hope Closed on December 10, 2013

December 10, 2013

Journey to Hope has made the decision to close tomorrow (12/10/13) because of the forecast for snow and sleet tomorrow.  Please know that your safety is our number one concern.  We will be open during our regular business hours on Wednesday, December 11, 2013.  Remember, your life matters so much to me and to Journey to Hope. Blessings, Susie

Announcement about Appointments for 12/9/13

Hello there and good morning!  I wanted to reach out to let you know that Journey to Hope will be open today, and I will be in the office from 11-8. However, I am emailing to let you know that if you feel that you need to cancel today due to the icy conditions and weather, there will be no cancellation fee for you.  The weather has come upon us, and I want your safety to be the top priority.  So, with that said, I would appreciate it if you would let me know if you are still planning to come in for your session, just as a courtesy.

Please know that I want you to make the decision today.  Praying for your safety, whether you stay home or come into the office today. If you decide not to come in today, please also email me with a status update of your week and how you are doing. Thanks.  Your life matters so much to me and to Journey to Hope. Blessings, Susie

Happy Thanksgiving from Journey to Hope

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Journey to Hope.  It is our prayer that you will spend some time this weekend remembering all the things and people you are thankful for and counting your blessings.  It is a wonderful time to remember all that has been done for us and given to us.  Thankful for each of you and the gift of your life.  It is an honor to walk with you on this journey of your life

Also a reminder about our hours.  Journey to Hope Offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 28th and 29th. We will reopen on Monday, December 2nd, 2013 with our regular counseling schedule.

Blessings, Susie

Journey to Hope is part of Trees of Hope 2013

Journey to Hope is very happy to participate for the 3rd year in the Trees of Hope Project benefitting Hope House in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  Hope House has as their mission "to provide homeless mothers and their children with safe housing and the opportunities to transition to successful, independent living." Visit their website at www.hopehouseva.org for more information and ways you might be able to help.  It is hard for me to resist any type of support for a project with the word HOPE in it, but I have long been passionate about work with the homeless in our community and this is a small way that Journey to Hope can give back to "the least of these."  Take a look at the photo of our tree this year.  Our theme is "A Prayer for Peace from Journey to Hope".

Peace is very hard to come by when you are homeless and hungry and struggling. So Journey to Hope prays for peace for all the moms and children at Hope House, and those who will come in 2014 - that God will be greater than their situation. That hope will be stronger than fear.

If you are interesting in helping with another homeless ministry, we are also collecting coats and  blankets for the New Generation Homeless Shelter this Christmas.  Please drop off any new or gently used coats and blankets, and we will distribute them before Christmas at the shelter.  Look in the newsletter for more details. Thanks.

Praying for you today, Blessings, Susie
