Happy New Year 2012

"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on
them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New
Year's Day. " Edith Lovejoy Pierce

Happy New Year! I like the idea of New Year's Day, a new beginning, a fresh start, a
chance to do things differently, better - a ground zero kind of moment in
the year. I am praying that you will have a new beginning this year as well,
for whatever you face in 2012. God is with you, Emmanuel.

In Christ, Susie

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Christmas is all around at Journey to Hope.  We have spent a lot of time decorating the office, with everything that we could find that would remind us of the Hope in this season! Thanks to many of you who helped us by painting and decorating ornaments while you waited for your appointment.  Your work has been amazing and beautiful. I will try to post a picture before Christmas.

We are working really hard at being present in the moment with you as we meet during this holiday season.   We are also mindful that, although this is a wonderful time of the year, it is also very painful for many of you.  In the last year, some of you have faced or are facing separations, divorce, painful relationships, even the death of a loved one.  Please know that we pray for you every single day at Journey to Hope, and we are trusting God with your present, your future, and even as you work to make sense of your past.

Every day is a gift...and there is always hope. Remember that.

Merry Christmas from the heart, Susie

P.S. Holiday Hours for Journey to Hope. Mark your calendars..  We will be closed from Friday, December 23rd through the new year. We will start back our regular counseling schedule on Monday, January 2, 2012.

Giving Thanks

We are within days of Thanksgiving, and I find myself feeling very thankful for the blessings of this first year of Journey to Hope.  We have been blessed since our opening date through now with an abundance of clients, and it is a privilege to be able to journey with you for this season in your life.  I am very thankful to know each and every one of you.  You each face many different challenges and struggles and it is my prayer that brighter days are ahead for many of you.  Giving thanks also to everyone who has made Journey to Hope possible is a gigantic task, as so many of you are a part of us. Thanks to all of you who help us make a difference in the lives of others.

Please be aware of our Thanksgiving week hours.  We will have regular counseling hours and scheduling Monday-Wednesday @ noon. (11/21-11/23)  We will be closed Wednesday afternoon/evening and Thursday and Friday (11/24-11/25), and will be back to our normal counseling schedule on Monday, November 28th.

"As we pause to thank Him for the blessings of the past year,
we must not forget to thank Him for the lessons we have learned through our difficult times.
We are not to be thankful for just the pleasant, easy things, but ALL things
." Millie Stamm

Happy Thanksgiving!  Susie
